Sometimes judgment is already at the gates, and the people have no clue. God’s hand is moving — not to bless, but to discipline. But the lookouts are asleep. The spiritual High Command is unresponsive. Lazy leaders who want to feast in peacetime, not realizing war has been declared.
They quote their favorite preachers who haven’t sounded the trumpet — but maybe those preachers are out of uniform. Back then, when God gave watchmen and the people ignored them — the whole nation fell. The alarm was sounded, but the citizens laughed it off. They mistook the alert sirens for background music.
You return to base, hear the warning sound, and start dancing. You can’t tell the difference between the sound of celebration and the sound of war. And that would be funny if it wasn’t a true story. People have opened their gates to the enemy, thinking they were friends — all because of ignorance.
Even if you’re not a watchman yourself, shouldn’t you have one in your life? Because when there’s no sentry on the tower, no response team in place, entire cities fall. For even on your wedding day, if the alarm sounds, you have to evacuate.
