The Bible says rebellion is like witchcraft. It’s not about acting dramatic or saying “I’m rebellious.” It shows when you don’t listen to instructions—when you hear a rule and ignore it.
Saul disobeyed the instruction to wait. He couldn’t stand people leaving him. He panicked and offered the sacrifice himself.
That was rebellion. That’s what opened the door. That same Saul later killed every priest in the city of Nob, as well as the men, women, children, and animals. No enemy king ever did that to God’s people. Saul did.
That’s what rebellion becomes. You say, “I’ll never do that,” but you don’t know yourself. The heart is deceitful. That’s why you obey God—not just because you understand, but because you trust His command.
That’s how He trains people—through instruction and obedience.
