God is not afraid of brokenness. Some of you think your mess disqualifies you — but it doesn’t. It’s your pride that disqualifies you, not your weakness.
When a man knows he is broken, God can use him. But when he tries to be strong — when he pretends he has no flaws, no lust, no fear, no doubts — then he becomes dangerous.
You think you’re unfit because you fell into sin. But David fell — and still became the sweet psalmist of Israel. Peter denied Jesus — and still preached Pentecost. Paul murdered believers — and still wrote half the New Testament. What mattered wasn’t their perfection — it was their obedience and their determination to keep fighting sin.
Do you know how many demons stay around because you won’t admit what you did? But the moment you break — really break — and cry out to God, they lose their authority. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. He won’t despise a broken and contrite heart. So the secret to overcoming darkness is humble and obedient repentance, not worldly sorrow.
