How To Speak To God

Spending time with God is more powerful warfare than all the shouting and drama. One hour with God quietly—listening to Him, reading the Bible, talking to Him like a reasonable person—is greater warfare.

I like to teach people to pray properly. Stop coming to God on auto-repeat: “Heavenly Father, Ancient of Days, Mighty God…” Don’t talk like that. God did not create robots, and He does not like robots.

From today, change how you pray. Say, “Lord, Father, this is Bobby.” Be real. Stand before Him like you know you are talking to God. And don’t go to the other extreme of talking like you are with your boyfriend or girlfriend.

God is holy. Come to Him calm and reasonable. Even if you pause and say, “Father, I don’t know what to say,” He will not mind. What He does not like is when you pretend and rattle off empty words.
