Do you know why many fall into immorality or other sins? It is because when the arrow of lust comes, it burns and burns, and they begin to think, “This thing is not stopping, I must find a way to express it.” And that is how they fall.
God’s word says you are supposed to resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The question is: for how long must you resist? Hebrews 12:4 gives the answer: “You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.” That is how far you are expected to resist. Even if it wounds your body, even if it costs you, you must resist.
Sometimes the burning lasts for days, sometimes weeks, sometimes months, and then it stops. God Himself taught me this. If you wait, it passes. If you give in, you fall.
This is why many lose—because they accept the lie that they cannot hold out. They think they have no choice but to surrender. But Scripture says otherwise: resist the devil, and he will flee. That is the victory. It is not in giving in, not in finding a way to “manage” sin, but in holding the line until the fire passes.
The truth is this: it always passes. The question is, will you resist until it does?
