On top of everything, you must put on the armor of God. This is not human protection; it is armor made by God Himself. Without it, you will be defeated. The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit—every piece matters. Any missing piece leaves you vulnerable.
You don’t get this armor in a day. You receive it through time and obedience. Ephesians 6 tells us to put it on, and then it says to pray all kinds of prayers. Not just one kind, but all kinds. Sometimes the prayer needed is praise, like when Jehoshaphat faced three nations and began to sing instead of asking God to kill his enemies. At other times, the prayer needed is repentance, because God is saying, “You owe me.”
Don’t keep praying one type of prayer for every situation. God expects reasonableness. He is not moved by many words but by obedience and the right response. Learn how to fight with prayer in its different forms. That is part of the armor of God.
