Matthew 28 does not say, “Go into all the heavens.” It says, “Go into all the earth.” Jesus never sent anyone into the heavenlies to fight. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” That means He commands both realms — but He gave us responsibility only for one: the earth.
The nations, the ethnos, are here, not up there. When we do our part on earth, He does His in heaven.
Revelation 12 shows it clearly: while the believers on earth overcame by the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and did not love their lives to the death, Michael and his angels fought in heaven. Two different battlegrounds, two different armies. We fight on earth; angels fight in heaven. That’s order. That’s authority. That’s how God works.
So when someone says they went to fight demons “in the heavenlies,” they’ve crossed into unauthorized ground. You can love God and still step out of your jurisdiction — and pay a heavy price for it. Some have lost families, businesses, and even their lives because of ignorance.
You don’t go into a battle where you have no authority. It’s not fear — it’s obedience. Authority flows within boundaries.
