Don’t Practice Sin

There’s a difference between sin and continuing in sin. Some people sin and get forgiven. Others sin and hold on to it in defiance.

That’s why 1 John 3 says, “No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him.” It doesn’t say you will never sin, but you cannot continue in sin as a lifestyle. Verse 10 says, “This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are.”

So there’s a difference between those who practice righteousness and those who don’t. The child of God practices righteousness; the child of the devil practices unrighteousness. It’s not about what you claim. It’s about what you practice.

You can preach, sing, or serve, but if you continue in sin, refusing to repent, you’re walking contrary to the seed of God.
