Authority and giftings can be abused. I have seen people hijack miracles, manipulate prophetic words, and pressure others into saying things that destroy credibility. Just a 2% corruption can cancel 98% of authenticity. God is not impressed with showmanship or public recognition; He looks for fruit. That is why humility is vital.
You must struggle to keep your giftings under brown paper: plain, unassuming, hidden from the eyes of men. Brown paper is not attractive. It does not dazzle, but inside it could be a bar of gold. Many struggle with the temptation to show off, to be free like others, and in doing so, they fall into pride. This is a real danger. Many have not learned humility. They expose themselves, they elevate themselves, and everything falls apart.
Care more about what is inside you than how people see you. That is the principle. True power is not in recognition. True power is in being used by God, in staying under the radar, in building in secret, and in letting God’s hand be seen in the results. Pride will destroy far more than immorality ever could. Humility will carry you through.
