What’s a major thing that is happening in our lives? What really happened to man on the earth? What happened is called captivity. The enemy took man captive.
However, there is something like freedom, and freedom is in levels.
Everyone on the earth, including Paul, including the Lord Jesus—by reason of being on earth—comes under a certain level of restraint.
There was a time the Lord Jesus went up a mountain with three of His disciples. In that moment, He took off the restraint. He was shining brighter than the sun. That glory was always within Him, but while He was on earth, it was held back. It was covered. It was restrained.
By being on earth, you come under a form of captivity. If you understand this, you will want to be freer. Because to be free is how God made us to be.
Adam and Eve were free, so free they didn’t wear clothes. Who remembers the joys of childhood? No stress. No covering up. Just life. But because of sin in the earth, that freedom has been lost.
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible presents human beings as people who have been taken into bondage. Bound in captivity to many things—fear, sorrow, and more.
Humanity is not free.
