There are different forms of captivity. There is obvious spiritual captivity—night attacks, oppression, fear. There is ideological captivity.
They introduce you to ways of thinking. You start saying things like, “Well, I don’t believe this… I believe that…” You keep an “open mind” until your brain falls out.
There is cultural captivity. “This is how we do it here. This is our culture.” Says who? If it is not biblical, why should it be done? “There’s nobody that is straight here.” That’s what they tell you. No. That is captivity speaking.
There is good culture and there is bad culture. There is culture directed by the Spirit, and there is culture that is not. These are systems of this world—systems that hold people down.
Now, the scriptures show that God is determined to restore man, to deliver man, and to bring His people into maturity, authority, and participation in His kingdom.
But there are people who believe God wants to bless them, yet they deny the existence of an enemy.
You cannot deny an enemy and conquer it. If you say there is no enemy, what are you fighting?
Many who deny the enemy are already slaves to it.
