Rebellion doesn’t happen overnight.
It builds over time, often beginning with unmet expectations.
In the wilderness, the Israelites grew frustrated because things weren’t going as they expected.
They complained to Moses:
“Things aren’t looking like you said.”
The same frustrations that caused rebellion then can affect us today.
We expect certain things by a certain time—marriage, ministry, success—
and when they don’t come, frustration grows.
When frustration builds, it can lead to a refusal to follow authority.
When you find yourself rejecting a superior’s instruction,
it’s a sign of this lingering frustration.
It’s important to ask yourself:
Where is this frustration coming from?
Most often, it’s tied to unmet expectations.
We assume things should happen on our terms,
and when they don’t, we begin to question everything—
including the authority that guides us.
God allows frustrations to test us,
to see how we will handle them.
Just as Moses and the leaders were tested,
we too are being tested—in patience, obedience, and trust.
How will you handle your test?
Will you remain faithful,
or will the frustration cause you to rebel?
