You’ve read about David’s mighty men, right? You need to go back and read them again. Those men are meant to be your heroes. One of them stood alone on a patch of land and brought down 300 men. When he was done, his hand was stuck to his sword. They couldn’t separate it — it had cleaved to his hand. That’s what the Bible says. It stuck. The man had fused with his weapon. (2 Samuel 23:9–10)
That’s what it means to wield the Word of God the right way. You use it so much, your hand fuses to it. It becomes part of you. You open your mouth and the Word comes out. You’re not just quoting verses; you practice the verses till it’s a part of you. That’s what Jesus had. That’s why they asked him no more questions. He answered so well, nobody dared try again. (Matthew 22:46)
This didn’t start at 30. From childhood, He was already intimidating learned men. (Luke 2:46–47) From a little child, Timothy too had known the Scriptures — that’s what made him wise. (2 Timothy 3:15) That’s how you become a soldier who can’t be disarmed — when you and the sword have fused.
