Jesus told a story about a tree that had no fruit. The owner came year after year looking for fruit and found none. First year — no fruit. Second year — no fruit. Third year — still nothing. Then he said something very serious: “Cut it down. Why should it keep using up the soil?”
Many believers don’t understand this. They think God is careless. They think God is just happy they are around. No. God wants fruit. He is a very deliberate businessman. He does not allow something to occupy space indefinitely without producing.
Some people are very good at growing branches. They attend every meeting. They are always around church activity. Even when there is no program, they are present. But there is no fruit. Leaves everywhere, no mango.
Jesus had an encounter with a tree like that. Full of leaves, impressive appearance, but no fruit. He did not admire it. He cursed it. By the next day, it had withered. The body of the tree was still standing, but life had already left it.
God does not want intentions. Nobody goes to a fruit seller to buy the heart of a fruit. People want mangoes, bananas, cucumbers — fruit. Nobody pays for intentions. God does not buy intentions either. He wants actions. He wants fruit.
