The more you know God, the more humble you become. There’s a humility that comes with truly knowing Him. I’m not afraid to talk to God, but there’s a deeper level of knowing Him—I know God as Daddy, yet I have much more sense.
Do you know the difference between knowing your father at home and following him to the office? At home, you say, “Daddy, Daddy,” but in the office, Daddy enters, and everyone says, “Yes, sir. Welcome, sir.” Everything changes. Does your father speak accounting language at home with your mother? No. That office language is completely different.
Many people don’t understand God at work. You only know the God of “Jesus loves me, this I know.” But following God is more than that. When you read your Bible, you might see Him at home, but as you grow, God begins taking you to the office.
So, as I grew in God, He took me to the office. You hear some preachers preach baby food—milk for the babies. But don’t you know there’s a time to be a baby and a time to grow up? We have babies, yes, but you must also give and receive mature food. Why mature food? Because babies do not join the army, and soldiers are needed.
