Military Protocol Is the Only Way

The only way to carry out the work God has given us is by following military protocol.
One of the greatest dangers is adopting a civilian mindset—a relaxed, opinion-driven approach to spiritual matters.

This is why some newer people act better. Like fresh recruits, they carry that initial fear and caution.
But over time, those who gain some authority often grow familiar and start to lose that edge.

They’ve been to the officers’ mess, where colonels and other high-ranking officials relax and act like normal people. In that environment, things aren’t always strict and formal.
Sadly, this familiarity begins to shape their thinking:
“My General, my Colonel, my Major is just like me.”
That mindset is dangerous. It’s what happened to Judas.
He saw Jesus in everyday situations—coming out of the bathroom, using the toilet—and gradually lost reverence.
What gave him the audacity to steal from Jesus? Familiarity.

The same thing happens to men of God.
When they see the Lord’s patience and mercy, they assume their actions no longer matter.
“I’ve behaved carelessly, yet He still uses me.”
That sense of indispensability creeps in:
“He needs me. What would He do without me?”
And so, they grow casual. The prayers fade. The seriousness is lost.

But every soldier must remember:
We are at war. Familiarity is no excuse for disobedience.
