Satan knows exactly what he’s doing. While many Christians are distracted with external enemies and surface-level issues, the devil is targeting something far more powerful: God’s Word.
Jesus said in John 6:63 that “the flesh profits nothing. It is the Spirit that gives life. The words that I speak to you—they are spirit and they are life.”
If His words are life, then it’s no surprise that the enemy’s goal is to steal that life.
John 10:10 tells us the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus came so we might have life—and not just life, but life more abundantly.
That life is found in His words.
His words carry spirit, power, and divine energy.
Can you then safely say: He came that you might have His words more abundantly?
If that’s true, then your greatest pursuit should be finding His words and feeding on them, until they become your joy and your strength.
That’s why Satan fights the Word. He knows its power. He knows what happens when a believer clings to truth, meditates on it, and walks in it.
This is why persecution arises because of the Word. Not just because you’re a Christian, not just because you go to church, but because of the Word—the truth that sets you free.
Satan will always oppose what brings life.
And nothing brings life like the living Word of God.
