Some of you are feeding what God is starving. He’s trying to kill that thing—your flesh, your pride, your need to always be right—and you’re there pampering it.
If God starves something in you, don’t sneak behind to feed it. Don’t sneak food under the table to what the Holy Spirit is trying to crucify.
When God says, “No more of this,” it means no more. That’s not when you hide it in your heart or indulge it secretly. That’s when you bring it to the altar and say, “Lord, let it die.”
The way of God is the way of the cross. And the cross doesn’t flatter the flesh. The cross doesn’t pamper sin. The cross puts things to death.
You have to agree with God. Don’t disagree and say, “But Lord, I don’t see anything wrong with this.” That’s not your place. If He points to it, just say, “Yes, Lord,” and hand it over.
God is wiser than you. He knows what’s a trap. He knows where that compromise will lead. So if He shuts a door, don’t look for the key.
