Pity the person who treats the church as a playground. Pity the predator who comes licking his chops, looking for sheep to scatter. The church is a place of safety. A place of healing. A place of rest. A place where burdens are laid down.
A mother is where you can sleep in peace. Sleep is a picture of rest, not fear. The church was never meant to wound. She was meant to heal.
The earthly Jerusalem was hijacked by false shepherds who did not love the Husband. They used her for politics, power, and gain. Her source became Satan. Lies entered through the eyes and ears. Lies lead to bondage. Truth leads to freedom.
The heavenly Jerusalem gives truth. And Jesus said, “If you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Freedom comes by continuing. By holding fast. By living according to His teaching.
This is the mother that gives life. This is the church of the living God. And if you understand who she is, you will know how to relate to her, how to honour her, and how to grow within her.
