The Danger of Hating The Truth

The greatest danger is when someone hears the truth and begins to hate it. When light shines, it exposes darkness. Instead of being thankful for the exposure, some become angry. They reject the light because it reveals what they are hiding.

But understand this—God doesn’t reveal truth to condemn you; He reveals it to save you. If your heart hardens and you start despising the voice that warns you, you are in serious danger.

Paul warned that people will gather teachers who say only what their itching ears want to hear. That is what happens when you hate the truth—you no longer endure sound doctrine, but chase after what makes you comfortable.

Don’t despise the truth, no matter how sharp it feels. Let it cut, so it can heal. God’s word may wound at first, but it is the only medicine strong enough to destroy the poison of sin.
