This is one of the most misunderstood things in this generation. God can say something about your life, but that does not mean it will begin immediately.
There is often a long gap between the calling and the commissioning.
Paul was told on the day he encountered the Lord that he was a chosen vessel who would appear before kings. Yet that did not begin immediately. Years passed before those things started happening.
Many people today receive a word and assume it means they should start acting on it right away. Some received hints of their calling while they were still in secondary school. From that moment they began waiting to step into it.
But Scripture shows that God works through timing and procedure. There is a proper time for every matter.
Between the moment God calls you and the moment He commissions you, there is usually only one thing you are meant to do: serve.
Elisha served Elijah. Joshua served Moses. David served Saul. Even the Lord Jesus, after the early account we are given of Him as a boy, went home and served His parents.
