They poured oil on Jehu’s head, and within a short time he was killing kings. The grace that came on him was specific. It was for dethroning kings and executing judgment. An arrow went in one side and came out the other. He rode furiously and carried out his assignment thoroughly. God was so pleased with his execution that He promised his children would sit on the throne for generations.
Before the oil, he was behaving casually. After the oil, everything shifted.
When the prophet anointed him and left, his fellow officers asked, “What did that mad man come to tell you?” At first he brushed it aside. But when they pressed him, he said, “He said I am king over Israel.” The moment he spoke those words, everything changed. They immediately took off their cloaks, spread them under him, blew the trumpet, and declared him king.
Why did they not accuse him of treason? Why did they not arrest him for attempting a coup? These were his colleagues, yet there was no resistance. The anointing worked.
Grace to lead produces results that are not normal. The same words that once moved only a few people suddenly move many. The message has not changed, but something has. Oil has come.
When grace comes, responses change. Authority is recognized. Things shift without argument. Do not play with oil. Do not treat lightly what God has done because it looked simple. Whether oil is visibly poured or hands are laid quietly, something real happens in the spirit. You may not see drama, but the transaction is serious.
Never treat it casually. The spirit realm recognizes it even if you do not.
