Many people think the key to freedom is prayer alone. But Jesus didn’t say “If you continue in prayer, you shall be free.” He said, “If you continue in My Word.” Prayer has its place, but it cannot replace the Word of God.
That’s why many pray and still fall into sin afterward — because they are using the wrong ingredient. It’s like trying to use yam instead of seasoning. Both are useful and good, but they do not serve the same purpose. You cannot replace the Word of God with prayer.
The Word cleanses you. The Word sets you free. The Word teaches you. Prayer builds on what the Word reveals. That’s why when you rise from prayer and still fall into the same sin, it’s because you are missing the foundation — the Word.
Keep the Word where it belongs. Sit with it. Listen and obey. I’ve taught this for years, and those who’ve obeyed have seen the same result — freedom. Those who insist on praying without the Word remain in bondage, no matter how long they pray.
When His Word abides in you, then you can pray effectively. Without it, you don’t even know how to pray.
