In ancient warfare, the silence of one watchman could cost an entire population their freedom. If only he blew that trumpet, families might have been saved. But because he didn’t, they were overtaken. Gone. That’s why Joel says, Let the bride and the bridegroom leave their chambers. This is not a drill.
When the warning blast goes off, you don’t continue the ceremony. You don’t wait to finish vows. You move. You fall in line. That delay could cost everything.
Joel 2 says, “Blow the trumpet in Zion.” Not music. Not celebration. It’s a combat alert. Zion is the Lord’s people — the Kingdom’s territory. A strategic location. The mountain of the Great King. And yet, God says: Sound the alarm in this holy base. Why? Because His people still face threats.
Don’t believe the propaganda that says, “Jesus has done it all, so there’s no danger.” If God let His Son — His most elite soldier — walk into trial for a season, what makes you think you won’t be tested?
