There is a lesson from 1 Kings 16:21-22. Israel was divided into two factions. Half followed Tibni, son of Ginath. The other half followed Omri. Scripture records the outcome clearly:
“But the people who followed Omri proved stronger than those who followed Tibni son of Ginath. So Tibni died and Omri became king.”
(1 Kings 16:22)
Whenever there is contention within you, the stronger side will rule. There is no neutral ground. There is no permanent coexistence. One will rise, and the other will be pushed out. Jesus said it this way:
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.”
(Matthew 6:24)
There is no arrangement where both remain in charge.
Many people think they can carry two loyalties. They assume nothing has to die. But that is not how it works. One will die. One will be removed. Wise people understand this and decide early what must be in charge. They do not postpone that decision.
In politics, when a king wipes out opposition, it sounds cruel and inhumane. But in the spirit, that principle is necessary. If opposition remains, it will fight for the throne. It will not agree to share power. Whichever side proves stronger becomes king.
