Paul said, “With my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.” That doesn’t mean you can serve both. Galatians 5 says, “Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.”
Whichever one you yield to is the one you are serving. This is why Jesus said, “Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy laden… take my yoke.” You must take His yoke. Paul introduced himself as “a bondservant of Christ.” Peter did the same. They no longer served sin—they became slaves of righteousness.
But many Christians try to split their service. On weekdays, they serve sin. They cheat, defraud, and lie. On Sunday, they rush into church and act busy for God, singing and cleaning “as unto a great King.” But God said no man can serve two masters. You will love one and despise the other. If you continue this divided life, when judgment comes, you will hear, “I do not know you.”
