Every true soldier of Christ is meant to go to war against corrupted doctrine. That was the battlefield of the apostles. Go read Paul’s letters. Read Jude. Read Peter. They didn’t fight empty religious battles—they fought for the purity of what was taught. They warned, they rebuked, they corrected, they exhorted. Because false teaching is not a side issue—it’s the battlefield.
Peter said, “As long as I’m in this body, I will keep reminding you.” Why? Because the battle was over the faith once delivered—and it was under attack.
So when people today say, “Let’s not focus on doctrine,” they have no idea they’re undermining the very thing the apostles died defending.
Yes, we must not emphasize doctrine in a legalistic, fleshly way—where we’re throwing out people for not agreeing with our 60-point theological checklist. But neither can we say doctrine doesn’t matter. Doctrine is teaching. And the church is meant to be grounded in the teaching of Christ.
You want to know why so many people are being destroyed spiritually? Bad doctrine. Poisoned teaching. Wrong beliefs.
