You Cannot Be a Solo Entity In an Army

One of the great dangers in the days ahead will be the temptation toward spiritual independence. Some people will suffer serious consequences because they insist on operating as a solitary entity in what is supposed to be an organized army.

In any army, soldiers operate under command. There are captains of thousands, captains of hundreds, captains of fifties. There are divisions. There are orders. No soldier decides to ignore all commands and simply fight wherever he feels like fighting.

If someone behaves that way in the military, how should he be treated? Nobody does that.

If God moves someone from one contingent to another, it is usually clear. But you cannot keep one foot in one camp and another foot somewhere else, jumping back and forth. That creates disorder.

And disorder in the spirit realm is extremely dangerous.

Some people may already be guilty of this without realizing it. They move from place to place, connecting here today and somewhere else tomorrow. When asked where they belong or under what authority they operate, the answer becomes unclear.

If a spirit confronts you and asks, “Under whose banner do you march?” what will you say? Will you say, “Sometimes this one, sometimes that one”?

The New Testament allows a believer to move freely as a citizen in Christ. But soldiers are different. Soldiers must belong to a structure. They must be under authority. Otherwise they become something else entirely.
