For those who think you still have an option, especially in these last days, I’m sorry—you don’t. If you don’t start walking with the Holy Spirit now, you won’t be skilled. Hebrews 5 says solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between good and evil. The issue is not gifting or drama. It is training. Senses are trained by use.
Many people think some believers are just naturally spiritual. No. I am a living example of someone who does not see clear visions. I don’t see the way some people say they see. My spiritual knowing works more by feeling. Others see. Others hear. That does not make anyone superior. You don’t only have eyes in the spirit. You have ears. You have feeling. You have touch. You have smell. Every natural sense has a spiritual counterpart, and all of them are developed through practice.
That is why the prayer matters: “Lord, help me practice. Help me sharpen my senses. Help me to hear You and see You.” This is not a strange prayer. It is necessary. Without practice, there is no skill. Without skill, you will not discern well when it matters.
