We had just gone to the school’s cafeteria to do an assignment and prepare for a rumoured test, since the class we were meant to have had been cancelled.
We entered the cafeteria, and not long after we sat down, I looked around. The idea of preaching to the whole cafeteria came to mind. I mentioned it to HEU, and she said I should go ahead. I wanted to shrug it off, seeing that we had a test and assignments, but the prompting within me was strong. So, I asked HEU to join me, and just then, she saw a poster that read, “Let people see Jesus in you.”
We knew it was a confirmation when she drew my attention to the poster. We were scared, so we prayed for boldness.
We stepped out to the middle partition of the cafeteria, and I began to preach. The boldness was divine because, at some point, I was speaking so strongly, almost implying judgment. HEU spoke too, and she focused more on the mercy of God. We ended by singing two worship songs and praying.
We also called out our phone numbers in case anyone wanted to reach out to us. A girl walked up to me and took my number… We are hoping that others will contact us. It was a beautiful experience. In the end, what we had been so scared of wasn’t as big a deal as we had thought.
