Many families cry out, “We are under attack!” and point to external forces — witchcraft, accidents, enemies — but often, the root cause is internal sin and disobedience.
A brother struggling with adultery, a sister caught in stealing or lies, another battling blasphemy or evil thoughts — these are cracks where the enemy enters. Years of sin open doors for spiritual attacks and suffering.
The enemy attacks, but the consequence is often the fruit of sin left unchecked. As James 1:14-15 says, “Each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”
Before blaming the enemy outside, examine the heart within the family and yourself. Repentance is the key to closing those doors and healing the wounds.
If the Watchman can help kill the evil desire before it grows into sin, many lives can be saved.
