You say you tried your best, but God is asking for obedience, not just effort.
Some people say, “At least I tried.” Tried what? Obedience? No. You tried to negotiate. You tried to give 60% when He asked for 100%. That’s not trying—that’s disobedience dressed up.
God doesn’t reward effort that substitutes obedience. Saul tried his best too—he offered sacrifices when he should have waited for Samuel. And God called it rebellion.
When you disobey and still expect applause, you’re not dealing with God—you’re dealing with a version of Him you made up.
This generation likes to say, “God sees my heart.” Yes, He does. And He sees the rebellion behind the excuses. He sees that you knew what to do and still didn’t do it.
Obedience is better than sacrifice. Don’t give God what you think He should accept. Give Him what He asked for.
There’s no substitute for obeying God.
