“No blacksmith could be found in all the land of Israel…”
Why?
“Because the Philistines had said, ‘Otherwise the Hebrews will make swords or spears!’”
— 1 Samuel 13:19 (NASB)
That’s not a coincidence. That’s war strategy.
The Philistines didn’t just conquer Israel — they disarmed them spiritually. They either killed or kidnapped every blacksmith. Every man who knew how to forge a sword was removed. Why? Because a swordless army is a defeated army.
Today, it’s the same.
The enemy is targeting every man and woman who knows how to craft the sword of the Spirit — the Word of God. Every teacher who builds doctrine with care, who patiently forms weapons of truth in the fire of Scripture, becomes a target.
So now, many churches have no weapons. No sharp words. Just motivational fluff and shallow encouragements. Why? The blacksmiths are gone. We traded them in for entertainers.
But without the Word, we lose. Pray for the return of the blacksmiths. Cry out for those who will teach sound doctrine.
