While we prayed for GAM-C and T,
Matthew 19:14 came to mind in this way:
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”
I understood that preventing children from coming to Jesus was not only by actively resisting their meeting Him, but also by failing to actively pursue them and introduce them to Him.
I saw a heart which I realised belonged to a child.
Two different hands were reaching out toward this heart—it was like a race to see which hand would touch it first.
One hand was beautiful and glowing, while the other was wrinkled, decaying, and had claws for fingernails.
The rotten hand moved very fast, while the glowing hand was much slower.
The rotten hand reached the heart first and used its claws to make a deep, long mark on the heart.
When the glowing hand finally reached the heart and tried to touch it, the rotten hand withdrew its claws.
However, the wound remained, and soon it began to fester and boil—I saw a large mass of maggots eating deeper into the heart’s tissue.
This continued even as the glowing hand touched the heart, but with continued touch, the heart was eventually restored.
I understood that what I saw spanned the journey from childhood to adulthood.
And I realised:
-
The claws of the rotten hand would have remained embedded, causing further damage, if the glowing hand had never come.
-
If the glowing hand had reached first, it would have formed a protective forcefield, preventing the rotten hand from touching the heart at all.
-
The rotten hand represented the kingdom of darkness and its deliberate effort to injure or corrupt children.
-
The glowing hand represented Christ, and its slowness showed our own sluggishness and lack of urgency in reaching children and teenagers.
-
When the heart became a rotting mess, the child had already turned into what we call “bad company.” Yet, these are the very ones we are meant to pursue even more intentionally.
-
It may take time for a person corrupted by darkness to be fully healed, but persevering in keeping Jesus’ hand on them will bring complete restoration.
-
Children of light or darkness are not born that way—they are made by the influence of agents of light or darkness.
