John said something most people misunderstand: “The axe is laid at the root of the trees.” That does not mean cutting has happened yet. It means cutting is coming.
When an axe is laid at the root of a tree, action is imminent. The tree still has time—but not much. Why was the axe laid there? To give the tree time to start producing fruit. This is how God works.
When God starts speaking to you repeatedly—through sermons, through people, through scripture, through random encounters—the axe is being laid near your root.
Hosea 6:5 says, “I have hewn them by the prophets. I have slain them by the words of my mouth.”
God judges with words before He judges with actions. When the word of God keeps coming around you, it is not random. But many people ignore it.
The question is not whether you hear the word. The question is whether you will respond while there is still time.
