After the new seed is planted, fruit does not just appear automatically. Many people think that once they prayed a prayer, everything should change by itself. That is not how it works. The Bible is clear that fruit that aligns with righteousness must follow repentance, and for that to happen, there must be a renewing of the mind.
This is where many people get stuck. They say they are born again, but they still think the same way they always thought. They respond the same way. They reason the same way. They make decisions the same way. And then they wonder why their lives do not reflect the life of Christ. The issue is not that God did not do His part. The issue is that the mind was never renewed.
The renewing of the mind comes through the word of God.
That is why real change is tied to teaching. The word enters, and it begins to reshape how you think, how you judge, how you respond, and how you live.
This is why foundations matter. The Bible actually lists what it calls the foundational teachings of Christ, and many believers have never been taught them. Some people have been in church for years and still do not know these foundations because churches often preach what people like instead of what the Bible says.
Until the word is consistently put into a person, there will be no lasting fruit. You cannot live like Christ if you do not think like Christ. The new seed needs a new way of thinking, and that thinking only comes from submitting your mind to the word of God over time.
