Matthew 7 says, ask and it shall be given. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened. There are three ways to access. Asking is opening your mouth. Seeking is harder. Knocking is harder still.
You ask to be saved. Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Lord Jesus, forgive me. Save me. That is asking. You are justified by faith. You enter the outer court. Christ our Passover. Many Christians are only at this stage—forgiven, justified, born again. That is good, but that is not everything.
Truth is not asked for. Truth is sought. The Bible says, you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. You don’t need all your heart to receive forgiveness. That is why I never preach that you must come to God with all your heart to be forgiven. That is wrong. You ask, you humble yourself, you receive forgiveness.
But after forgiveness, if you want truth, if you want depth, if you want understanding, you must seek. This church teaches people to go to the second level. No longer just outer court, but the Holy place. This is where peace comes. This is where truth settles in your soul. This is where sanctification begins. Many people are born again and still struggling with immorality, struggling with all kinds of things—including pastors. Why? They never went beyond asking. They were justified by the blood, but not sanctified by seeking.
