Many will say, “Lord, Lord,” and He will say, “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23). That statement should sober anyone. These were people known on earth. They prophesied. They performed miracles. They used His name. But they were not known by Him.
Why? Because love was missing. They served with power, but not with obedience rooted in love. They performed, but they did not lay down their lives.
Love is not for display. Love is not acting. Love is doing what the Father wants even when no one applauds. Love is focused on God’s approval, not public recognition.
Like a skilled musician who ignores the applause of the crowd and watches only his trainer’s face, the one who loves God seeks only His nod. The crowd will clap for almost anything. God will not. You can impress people and still be rejected by God.
In the end, only one question matters: were you known by Him? That knowledge is built through obedience, sacrifice, and love.
