Prayer is a weapon. But many people are using that weapon wrongly.
Singing is prayer. The book of Psalms is a book of prayers, but they were all songs. So one of the best ways to pray is to sing your prayer. If you learn to sing your prayers, you will pray better and you will pray easier.
But then some people move from that into something else entirely—noise.
The Bible says when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you (Matthew 6:6). So how can you call it secret when everyone heard you?
Some people grew up thinking that the louder the prayer, the more spiritual it is. You hear the noise from a house and conclude, “That place is spiritual.” So people deliberately raise their voices. Some are even trying to warn evil spirits: “I’m awake.”
But Jesus said pray in secret.
You are not praying to your room. You are not praying to your street. You are not praying to your neighbors. You are praying to your Father.
If your voice has become a megaphone in a shared space, you are not using the weapon correctly. You are disturbing people, not engaging God.
If you must pray in a room with others, pray quietly. If you struggle to hear yourself, block your ears. You will hear yourself clearly. There are practical ways to obey scripture.
This is not a joke. You have no right to disturb people and call it prayer.
The weapon of prayer is precise. It is not noise. It is not performance. It is not for people. It is between you and your Father.
