…Many of the things people hear do not coming from God. They come from idols in their hearts.
Someone wants something strongly. It could be to travel. It could be marriage. It could be money. That desire becomes an idol.
Then they go to a prophetic person, and a word comes: “I see you relocating.” “I see this happening for you.” But it is not God speaking.
It is a receiver picking what is already inside the person.
The Bible explains this clearly. If someone has an idol in their heart and goes to a prophet, God says He will answer according to that idol (Ezekiel 14:4). That means what you are hearing may not be God’s will. It may be a reflection of your desire. That is dangerous. Because you can become confident in something God never said.
Now understand the other side.
There are people who also speak in a way that keeps everyone comfortable. They say what people want to hear. They avoid anything that will correct or confront.
The Bible says, “Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you” (Luke 6:26). That is how false prophets are treated.
So you have two problems happening at the same time. People with idols in their hearts want certain things and people speaking to them are saying things that match those desires so they can be liked. That is how deception spreads.
Truth does not behave like that. Truth will confront what is wrong in you. Truth will not adjust itself to your desires. Truth will not protect your idol.
When truth comes, it may correct you. It may expose something. It may go against what you were hoping to hear.
When Jesus spoke, people left. They could not handle it. So check yourself.
What are you holding onto so strongly that it is shaping what you hear? And if you are speaking, are you saying what is true, or what will make people accept you?
Because truth is not meant to keep people comfortable. It is meant to make them free.
