Pride is not just an attitude. Sometimes pride becomes a world. A private world where you are the celebrity. A world where everyone admires you. A world where people bow to you, applaud you and finally recognize your greatness.
Some people retreat into that world so often that it becomes more real than the one God placed them in. That is dangerous. Those worlds are so developed that reality begins to lose its hold on them.
We must go to war against those worlds. They must burn.
“Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:2)
Some people mentally leave those worlds the way someone politely excuses themselves from a physical room. Others don’t even enter them deliberately anymore. They are pulled into them, yanked into them.
If something can seize your attention without your permission, you are no longer dealing with imagination alone; you are dealing with war.
Don’t defend those worlds. Don’t preserve them. Ask Jesus to destroy every world that is not His.
When He tears them down, He is not taking something away from you. He is bringing you back to reality. And reality with God is far better than fantasy without Him.
