The problem with tolerated sin is that it never stays the same size. Anything you refuse to remove today grows stronger tomorrow.
The Israelites were warned not to leave the enemies in the land because those enemies would multiply, reinforce themselves, and eventually become a greater threat. The same thing happens spiritually.
You allow lust to remain because you think it is private. You tolerate bitterness because you believe it only affects you. You excuse unforgiveness because “everyone gets angry.”
Meanwhile, the enemy is increasing his influence. That hidden compromise is not staying hidden. It is producing fruit.
Many battles people face years later began with an enemy they refused to confront when it was still small.
This is why we do not manage sin. We do not sign peace treaties with darkness. We do not give demons room to establish permanent residence.
God never instructed Israel to leave Canaanites in the land so they could all “live together.” He commanded them to drive them out. The same command applies to the territories of your heart.
Whatever God identifies as an enemy must remain an enemy.
Do not protect what God wants destroyed. Drive it out. Every single one.
