God told Samuel to go anoint David quietly. This is how God picks people. He doesn’t do it with noise. He identifies someone and selects them for His purpose. This can happen to anyone—apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher, or any other kind of servant in the body of Christ.
You can’t look at yourself and conclude He won’t pick you. And wanting it or not wanting it doesn’t determine anything. Some want it and God doesn’t pick them. Some don’t want it and God picks them. It’s not based on personal preference.
Some people act as though God is begging them to do ministry. Meanwhile nobody called them. But the day you die and stand before God, what matters is whether your name is in the book of life. Being an ambassador for Christ is not some burden someone is trying to force on you; it is a privilege given by God when He chooses.
The issue is not ambition. The issue is whether God points and says, “That one.” God picks His servants quietly, without fanfare, without attention. And He picks them for His reasons, not theirs.
