Jesus said in John 3, “No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” There are two births. The first is from flesh, the second is from Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, and spirit gives birth to spirit. Many people are born once and live their lives without understanding the second birth. They rely on the first, corruptible seed.
You may say, “I come from a Christian family. I am born.” That is only the first birth. To be truly born again, you need the imperishable seed—the living and enduring word of God—to change your nature from the inside.
This seed carries God’s nature. Without it, you will continue to bear the wrong fruit, no matter how religious or moral you appear.
The seed matters. If it is perishable, it will fail. If it is incorruptible, it will produce life according to its kind. That is why the words preached to you must be living, powerful, and from God Himself. Acts 2 and 3 show the apostles preaching repentance and transformation, not instant physical results. The word is like seed meeting the egg of your spirit. Without contact, nothing forms. With contact, life resembling the source of the seed—God Himself—begins to grow inside you.
