Motivational speaking isn’t the Word of God. It targets the soul, not the spirit.
That’s why even unbelievers can change their lives after listening to it. They manage their time better. They become more organized. They work harder. They stop being wasteful. Yes, those things are good.
But they’re not spiritual.
Because God is spirit, and to worship Him, you must worship in spirit and truth. Many people have clean outer lives—well-behaved, structured, accomplished. But inside, where they really live, it’s a mess.
Motivational speaking trims the hedges. The Word of God digs out the roots.
That’s why false prophets love motivational sermons—they tickle the soul and leave the spirit asleep. And the church calls it teaching.
