Many people have been taught that prayer is the only weapon. It is not true. Prayer is one of many weapons.
When the Bible talks about the armor of God, it lists several things—truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, the word—and then after all that, it says praying with all kinds of prayer.
Prayer is not the whole armor. It is part of it.
So what happens to someone who only knows one weapon? What happens when that one weapon is not enough for the situation?
You must understand warfare properly. You must understand the full armor.
There is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. But not just general Bible knowledge. The sword is what God is saying at that moment. That is what you use.
The sword of the Spirit is not carrying your Bible under your pillow. The sword of the Spirit is when you say what God is saying.
That means you must be hearing Him. Because you cannot speak what He is saying if you are not listening.
That is why when real spiritual warfare is happening, you will see pauses. You will see someone stop, listen, then speak. Because what they are saying is not rehearsed. It is coming from what God is saying in that moment.
When that word comes out, things happen. You hear reactions. You see changes. Because that word is alive. That is the sword.
Righteousness protects you. Truth holds everything together. Faith blocks attacks. But the sword is what you use to strike.
