Many people wonder, “If there is no benefit to the kingdom of Satan, why does he keep attacking people?” There is great benefit.
Think of it like a soldier who is knocked unconscious before a battle begins. The battle goes on while he is lying there, completely unaware. Then, after everything is over, he wakes up.
What do you think happened while he was unconscious? He was plundered. That is exactly what the enemy does. He doesn’t just come to make noise. He comes to take things.
He plunders precious things. He takes rights. He takes privileges. He takes opportunities. He takes what belongs to you. He keeps taking and taking until what remains is what you are left to manage. Then he comes back again.
The reason he returns is because there is still something worth stealing.
If after two or three attacks he stops bothering with you completely, or you stop wandering around in confusion because he no longer needs to trouble you, it is because he has finished stripping you.
But for the child of God, the story is different. What God has promised you in Christ is abundance. The Bible speaks of the abundance of His grace. (Romans 5:17, Philippians 4:19)
John tells us that the Law came through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Then he says that out of His fullness we have all received. (John 1:16–17)
The Amplified Bible says:
> “Out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received, all had a share, and were all supplied with one grace after another, and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, and even favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift.”
That is why the enemy keeps coming. Not because God gave you only one blessing. Not because He gave you only two opportunities. He keeps coming because in Christ there is an endless abundance that God has made available to His people.
The enemy knows there is still more. But the good news is that God’s supply is greater than the enemy’s attempts to plunder. But why should we let him plunder us at all?
