LET THE WEAK SAY
Possible interpretation
The basic picture of this word is, God calling us to a deeper walk with Him.
Of course, a chasm is a deep place or represents difference in opinion. It may speak of the level of separation and difference in opinion that one has to have from every other thing around, from the world, to be able to have this deeper walk.
So, differences in opinions, ideas, ideologies, thoughts, as well as coming to a deeper place with God.
It is also a place of uncertainty where one has to have faith and trust. It is a place of humbling and testing. One major instruction that was given was to note the time and how fast time went, because we are in a place where we don’t have time.
There is not much time for us to learn and do all the things that we have to do so we have to redeem the times.
We don’t have any second minute to waste, watching things that we should not watch, engaging in useless chatters, but to focus and make use of every time, because time is running out.
The second part says:
“Lift up your head, O you gates. Be lifted up O ye gates and be lifted up you everlasting doors”
and this person saw battering rams.
That scripture in the book of Psalms is a picture of the King of Glory coming in so every other thing bows down to him and gives him access. It is a command for access to be given.
Our lives are gates, our hearts are gates, our eyes, our senses are gates and openings.
We have accessways through which God can come through. It is either we open up willingly, or we will be forced to open.
Because this is the season where the Lord is coming, and we will either bow willingly or bow forcefully.
If you have to bow forcefully, it will be with a lot of pain. Just like Jonah, he could have willingly gone to Nineveh, but he chose to go via fish and arrived with a bleached skin due to disobedience.
So, understanding that, don’t be afraid, whatever is keeping you from opening up to God, obeying God, which may be fear or sin, understand that you should not allow these things to stop you from giving God access.
Instead, listen to His words, forget what is past, and move on.
In the chasm everything was sensitive, we are in a sensitive season, where we cannot carry out negligent actions, we have to walk circumspectly, with intention.
Everything must be intentional — your words, thoughts, actions. When you go to a place there must be intention in everything you do, it adds up to the training, it adds to our preparation we have to undergo in the seasons ahead.
By inclining our ears to the Lord, and forgetting what is past, forgetting what we had but focusing and listening to Him, we will see that we will be able to walk better with God.
And when He opens our ears to hear, we are to listen and do what we are told.
“Listen, O daughter, Consider and incline your ear; Forget your own people also, and your father’s house;”
Psalms 45:10 NKJV
The book of Isaiah, “Incline your ears”, Psalm 45
“The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.”
Isaiah 50:4
From the scriptures given, in redeeming the times, you’re to:
In Redeeming the Times
-
Cast away your sins,
-
Listen to His words
-
Forget what is past and worship Him.
-
Incline your ears and pay attention.
-
Say what He says.
And this is how we will redeem the time; by doing these things. We have to recognise that we are fighting in a war, and not be lax about it, we must march in our ranks.
Marching in your rank has to do with obeying authority, recognising the place that God has kept you, and staying there, not usurping authority or being absent in your place.
And so, the name of the Lord is glorified.
Boast in the lord, He is your glory.
I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Psalms 16:8
