#221 | The True Spiritual Journey of Man – Pt. 3

As united with others in prayer, our plea echoed: “Let love be shared amongst us…”

Suddenly, 1 Corinthians 13:4 leapt off the page, its words resonating deeply within me:
“The first expression and evidence of love is patience, and that is why love never fails…”
The words of Hebrews 6:11-12 also whispered in my ear.

It became clear: THOSE WHO DO NOT ENDURE TO THE END ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

I knew then that I had to build my endurance, make it my goal.
Only through persistence would I glimpse love’s true form.
It dawned on me that TRUE LOVE REQUIRES ENDURANCE, that LOVE IS PAIN.

I prayed fervently for a heart soft enough to bear the weight of suffering and a skin tough enough to withstand life’s trials.
A melody drifted into my mind:
“Refiner’s fire, my heart’s one desire is to be holy, set apart for you, Lord… ready to do your will…”

I yearned to understand love, to recognize its presence.
Matthew 25 and Isaiah 53 flashed before me.
Love, I realized, often comes in unexpected ways, hiding in plain sight.
Many would overlook or reject it.

With renewed determination, I prayed for the courage to welcome love in all its forms, to cherish it above all else.
Only then would happiness and peace fill my life.
The apostles’ experiences in 1st Peter and James 1 touched my heart deeply.

Sister M mentioned “manure,” and I saw it as an example of the flaws and imperfections surrounding us.
In daily living, I saw opportunities to grow in love.
Yadah’s song, “You look beyond me, oh,” became my heartfelt prayer —
to see beyond people’s weaknesses, just as God sees beyond mine.
