While praying generally for us and committing this season into God’s hands, I saw a chain of people standing on a wall—standing on their watch. At first, I thought this represented the watchmen or intercessors. However, because the link was long, I sensed it could represent the whole house.
From the enemy’s side, I saw arrows being shot randomly at those standing watch. The people seemed to be taking turns, holding their positions, but the goal of the enemy was clear: to pierce someone and break the chain, the connection they shared.
Some of the arrows were labeled “root of bitterness” and “envy.”
I heard the word:
“distortion.”
I understood this to mean that the enemy’s aim was not just to harm, but to distort visions in order to cause confusion, so that what needed to be seen would be missed. It was an attempt to divide and distract the collective sight and unity of the people on the wall.
These arrows could only land where someone was exposed—an area not properly covered or where a piece of their armor had been removed. I had an impression that we are being reminded to ensure our full armor is intact.
This reminded me of a chapter from the book I was reading, “There’s a Crack in Your Armor”, which emphasizes the importance of wearing the whole armor of God.
I saw a picture of people casually taking off their armor while still on watch, laughing and chatting. The helmet seemed to be the most common piece being removed, just for a moment of joke. But the enemy was waiting for even the slightest opportunity to strike.
Then I heard:
“Attacks on the mind.”
There was this warning about not being casual or careless in a time of warfare. I found myself praying that the Lord would help us understand better the ways of warfare, so that we won’t be casual or careless of what’s at stake, and to know how to conduct ourselves.
While typing this word, 1 Kings 20:11 came to mind:
”The king of Israel answered, ‘Tell him: One who puts on his armor should not boast like one who takes it off.’”
